Green tea catechins (Camellia sinensis) have been found to have a number of antioxidant activities, including scavenging of such reactive oxygen species as superoxide, hydroxyl and peroxyl radicals.
Pome–Green™ contains a super potent standardized extract of Green Tea (450 mg), which contains 95% Polyphenols, and 40% Epigallocatechin–3 P–gallate (EGCG). Much of the research has been done with EGCG, one of the main constituents in Green Tea, and it appears to have the greatest antioxidant activity of all the green tea catechins.
Pomegranate (Punca granatum) is enjoying a surge of popularity due to greater awareness of its benefits. Pomegranate juice is remarkably rich in antioxidants, such as soluble polyphenols, tannins, and anthocyanins, which scavenge free radicals and help prevent DNA damage that can lead to a number of serious health conditions.
The most powerful, functional antioxidants in pomegranate are punicalagins, collectively known as punicosides. Pomegranate juice has been studied and shown to provide an array of health benefits, which have been extensively promoted in reputable health journals.
