DGL improves the integrity of the natural mucus lining of the stomach and intestinal wall. It stimulates the protective factors which guard against weaknesses in these linings.*
Product Details
Licorice has historically been regarded as an excellent medicine for peptic ulcer. However, due to the side effects of the licorice compound , glycyrrhetinic acid (causes elevation in blood pressure in some persons), a procedure was developed to remove this compound from licorice and form deglycyrrhizinated licorice (DGL), resulting in a very successful anti–ulcer agent without any known side effects.
DGL stimulates and/or accelerates the factors that protect against ulcer formation. DGL has been shown to be more effective than either Tagamet, Zantac or antacids in both short term treatment and maintenance therapy of gastric and duodenal ulcers. DGL is composed of several flavonoids that have been shown to inhibit H. pylori.
Chew 1 tablet 3 times daily 20 minutes before each meal or as directed by a health practitioner. Taking DGL after meals is associated with poor results. DGL therapy should be continued for at least 8 to 16 weeks after there is a full therapeutic response.
Directions:
All products are best used by the expiration date shown on the label and/or bottle. After opening, keep all products tightly closed in a cool, dry place. Keep all products out of the reach of children.
